What have I been up to?
Earlier this month, I visited Brixington Primary School in Exmouth, Devon, to give a talk to the year four, five and six children. It was such fun meeting and chatting to all of the students who had read my book.
Afterwards, we ran a competition where the children had to draw a picture of their favourite character or scene from The Nightmare Factory and I must say, I was surprised by what a talented bunch they all were!
Here are the winners:
And the honorary mentions…
Today I got my proofs of the Nightmare Factory in the post!! This basically means that all the typesetting has been put in place and the manuscript begins to look like a book. Yay!
I spent all day reading it through, and marking up any mistakes that I found. It’s a pretty scary process, because this is my LAST chance to change anything. After this, the book will be made into, well… a book! The next time I see it, will probably be on the shelves in a bookstore. Exciting!! :D
